Lori Schaffner

VAN WERT, Ohio - Lori Ann Schaffner (Hiegel), 48, of Van Wert, went to join the angels of heaven on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, after a very brief stay at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center. Words on paper cannot begin to describe Lori's love and passion for God, family and friends, but it was best expressed as a near perfect wife, daughter, sister and friend to those who were blessed to know her and as an insurance agent for Leland Smith Insurance.

Lori was most recently preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Hiegel, and her father-in-law, William Schaffner. Lori's surviving family are her spouse, Jeff Schaffner of Van Wert; her mother, Janet Hiegel of Van Wert; son, Cory A. of Cincinnati; sister, Amy (Kevin) Wermer of Medina; brother, Mark (Michelle) Hiegel of Van Wert; mother-in-law, Wanda Schaffner of Toledo; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Dorothy) Schaffner of Toledo, Curt (Julie) Schaffner of Van Wert, Kevin (Jen) Schaffner of Shelby Township, Michigan; and a sister-in-law, Jenni (Kevin) Harris of Toledo, extended family also includes 12 nieces, 5 nephews and twin granddaughters.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 15 at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Van Wert.

Condolences may be expressed to family immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society in her name.
