Lucas Tobias

Lucas “Luke” Rolland Tobias, 39, of Van Wert, Ohio found peace on February 17, 2018.  He was born on December 6, 1978 to Aaron Bidlack of Grover Hill, Ohio and Virginia “Jenny” (Parsons) Tobias.  He is also survived by his father, Steve Tobias of Van Wert.

Luke was a 1997 graduate of Lincolnview High School where he was a wonderful saxophone player and an excellent art student.  He was a fabulous waiter and wine connoisseur, as well as a radio disc jockey.  Luke finally found his passion in helping bring comfort and joy to those in need, thus leading him to successfully acquire his nursing degree in 2010.

A smile and gentle heart were always found in Luke’s presence.  Art, cooking, and spending time with his 9 nieces and nephews were his favorite pastimes.

He is also survived by his siblings, Anjie (Jeremy) Hanicq, Brandon (Bernadine) Tobias, Matt (Kasey) Tobias, Sarah (Kody) Tobias Johnson, Matt and Lowanda Shulte, Steven Bidlack, Ashley (Casey) Louth, Freda Bok; nieces and nephews, Ryleigh, Aydreigh and Zacreigh Hanicq, Hayden and Adalyn Tobias, Emma and Parker Tobias, Zaelynn and Legend Sites, Phoenix Johnson, and Blake and Chase Louth; and his fur-baby Lilly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence Bidlack, Louie and Goldie Stemen, and Charles Parsons; uncles, Dan and Charlie “Shorty” Parsons; an aunt, Steff Lehman; and cousin, Ashley Parsons Harter.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio with Rev. Gus Christo-Baker officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00-7:00 PM on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to offset final expenses.
