VAN WERT, Ohio — Luther A. Cox, 80, of Van Wert, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born Jan. 23, 1934, in Van Wert, to the late Genevieve (Pollock) Cox and Clarence Cox.
His wife, Sharon (Roesser) Cox, survives of Van Wert.
Other survivors include a daughter: Laura (Harold) Harshman of Van Wert; brother: Austin Cox of Medina, Ohio; three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Doyt Cox.He retired from Community First Bank (formerly Van Wert National Bank), Van Wert, after 45 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Van Wert, where he was an active choir member for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea. He was an active member of the Van Wert Civic Theater and volunteer usher at Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
