Margaret Jean "Peg" Hodge, 77, of Rockford, Ohio, died at 12:57 p.m., October 2, 2012 at her home. She was born August 18, 1935 to Lester James and Mary Elizabeth (Lutz) Simon. On May 29, 1969, she married Robert Hodge, who preceded her in death on January 31, 1996. Peg retired in 1992 from the Mercer County Welfare Department, where she had been a supervisor for many years. She had lived the majority of her life in Rockford, and was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church. Surviving are 2 sons: Mike (Teresa) Heiser, and Rod (Jan) Heiser, both of Rockford; one daughter: Pam Beahrs, also of Rockford; 2 step sons: Steve (Cindy) Hodge of Celina, Ohio and Gary Hodge of Rockford; and 1 step daughter: Sherri Hodge of Celina. Six grandchildren survive: Kara Heiser, Taylor Beahrs, Joanie Christlieb, Colby, Dustin, and Jeremy Heiser; six step grandchildren: Kayla, Abby and Alysha, Matt, Cody and Brandon Hodge; one great grandson, Landyn Heiser; and two great granddaughters: Briana and Adalyn Byrd. Deceased is a brother, Danny Simons. Services will be held on Saturday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford at 11am with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will be in Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and on Saturday, one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
