Marian Morris

Marian Ruth (Richards) Morris, 94, of Van Wert, passed away at 4:45 pm on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Homestead Assisted Living in Van Wert.

She was born on September 26, 1927, in Venedocia, the daughter of the late Evan Howard and Mary Edith (Taylor) Richards. On September 17, 1949, she married Herbert Reese Morris, who preceded her in death on August 15, 1987. Together, they shared many years of memories.

Marian was a 1949 graduate of the Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.

Marian worked as a registered nurse. She retired from the Van Wert Area Visiting Nurses and had previously been the Director of Nursing at Van Wert County Hospital.

Marian was a life member of the Salem Presbyterian Church in Venedocia.

Surviving are her daughters, Marcia Wendel of Coldwater, Michigan and Edie (Scott) Basham of Westerville, Ohio; a son in law, Kenneth McPherson of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren, Sarah Wendel, Ryan (Mindy) Wendel, Kate (Jen Lopez) McPherson, Megan (Matthew) Kraemer, Kevin (Lexie) Morris Basham and Emily Basham; 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marian was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jean Morris McPherson; a sister, JoAnn Wise; and brothers, Donald and Joe Richards.

Services will be held at 11:30 AM, on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Salem Presbyterian Church, Venedocia. Interment will follow in Venedocia Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marian`s memory may be directed to Salem Presbyterian Church Music Committee or a charity of the donor's choice.
