Marilyn Kay (Jerome) Rodman, 81, of Van Wert, died at 1:58 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at Van Wert County Hospital. She was born Aug. 18, 1935, in Van Wert, Ohio, to Leo Winnieoka "Winnie" (Snyder) Jerome and Daniel Jerome. Her parents preceded her in death. Her husband, Rex E. Rodman, whom she married July 24, 1955, survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include her grandchildren, Burton (Melissa) Rodman of St. Joe, Indiana, Brian Samuel Price of Van Wert, Brittani K. Price of Waco, Texas, and Bethani N. Price of Van Wert, a granddaughter-in-law, Vanessa Rodman, and her great-grandchildren, Luc, Michal, Evan, Nathan, Madelynn, and Jade.
She was preceded in death by her children, Graydon E. Rodman and Brenda K. Price, siblings, Richard Jerome, Robert Jerome, Gwendolyn Knodel, Catherine Roth, Maynard Jerome, James Jerome, Graydon Jerome, Dan Jerome, and Paul Mason, and a grandson, Allen Rodman.
She worked for Kennedy Kit for several years. She was also a school crossing guard and an usher of the Van Wert Cat Pack.
Kay was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church and was an avid bingo player at the Knights of Columbus Hall and Van Wert Manor where she also helped set up. She enjoyed camping at Crooked Lake in Angola, Indiana, and was a member of the VFW.
Service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Seeyong Joseph Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Preferred memorial is Wesley United Methodist Church or the Gideons International
