VAN WERT, Ohio - Marilyn J. (Converse) Wortman, 75, of Van Wert, died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Martha (Tillman) Converse and Cloyd Converse.
Her husband, Larry Duane Wortman, died Feb. 9, 2013. They were married March 6, 1966.
Survivors include her children: Richard L. Buggle of Charleston, S.C., and Jeffery (Julie) Buggle of Van Wert; brothers: Larry Converse and Gary Converse; sister: Rebecca (Dan Casey) Hauserman of Pandora, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Carmen, Kiefer (Shelby), Michael and Sarah Buggle, Tiffany (Nick) McIntosh, Melissa (Derek) Terhark and Ashley Collins, and four great-grandchildren: Abram and Brody Collins, and Natalie and Griffin Terhark.
She was a homemaker and a member of Van Wert Moose Ladies Auxiliary. Marilyn's passion was her home and hospitality she shared with her family. She enjoyed her time shopping with family and friends and also treasured her fine collectibles.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Steve Savage will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Visitation is 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the funeral home.
The family requests memorial contributions to VW Inpatient Hospice Center in lieu of any flowers or "keepsakes."
