Marjory Jean Jones, age 95, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015. She was a resident of Brookdale Trillium Crossing of Columbus, an independent living facility.
Born December 10, 1920, in Hoaglin Township, Van Wert County, Ohio to Clifford and Mabel (Coil) Hattery. She graduated from Hoaglin Jackson High School and attended Giffin College and was a member of Pi Rho Zeta Sorority. On April 8, 1950, she married Lloyd Jones. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband and siblings Paul and Menford Hattery. She is survived by her children, Linda Jones, of Centerville, OH and Deborah (William) Michalec , of Dublin, OH.
Marjory was an employee of the Van Wert Municipal Court, Van Wert County Court House for 21 years and retired in 1987. She was a lifetime member of North Union United Methodist Church, Van Wert County, OH, and was the organist there for 20 years. She was a member of the Isaac Van Wert Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, antiquing, and family history and was gifted with an ear for music. She passed her love of music to both of her daughters.
Friends may call at the Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, 722 S. Washington St., Van Wert, OH from 10:30 a.m - 12 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home with Pastor Gregory Wack of North Union UMC officiating, interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Friends and family are invited to North Union UMC immediately following graveside services for a meal and fellowship.
