Mark L. "Louie" Showalter, 61, of Eubank, Kentucky, formerly of Van Wert, passed away on September 2, 2021 in West Liberty, Kentucky.
He was born on November 4, 1959, in Lima, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph and Norma (Pratt) Showalter.
Louie worked as an owner/operator truck driver and had formerly spent time working on the railroad.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing and, most importantly, spending quality time with his family and friends.
Louie spent his life working hard to support his family. He lived life to the fullest, would give you the shirt off his back and was always the prankster. If anyone ever got one over on him, he would say, "Aw, you got me, this time!" and would let out one of his infamous snickers. He would want everyone to reflect on the memories made and the good times they shared together.
Surviving are his children, Lacey (Mario) Alvarado of Continental, Ohio, Derek (Brittany) Showalter of Van Wert, Adam Showalter and Timothy Showalter both of Eubank, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Domonique, Damon, Tristan, Jayda, Ava, Janaya, Evyonna, Kyler, Conner, Makayla and Alayna; three great grandchildren, Tavarious, Oliver and Kayven; two brothers, Don (Cindy) Showalter of Grover Hill, Ohio and Erwin "Squeak" (Sheree) Showalter of Nancy, Kentucky; two sisters, Peg (David) Smith of Celina, Ohio and Kathy (Jess) Swicker of West Virginia; and the love of his life, Pam Pancake Showalter of Eubank, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Raymond Showalter.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio.
