Mary Lee Clay, 87, of Van Wert, died at 10:08 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Vancrest of Van Wert, Van Wert.
She was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Van Wert, to the late Ada Elizabeth (Clouse) Mihm and Justice Elmer Mihm.
Her husband, Ned Edward Clay, survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include children: Linda (John) Stutz of Van Wert, Sally (Paul) Ricker of Defiance, Ohio, Dennis (Mary) Clay of St. Petersburg, Florida, David (Ellen) Clay of Fishers, Indiana, Gary (Melissa) Clay and Jane (Steve) Crawford, both of Van Wert, Michael (Linda) Clay of Convoy, Ohio, Timothy (Jamie) Clay of Orange Park, Florida, Melissa "Missy" Clay and Amy Clay, both of Van Wert, and Scott Clay of Convoy, 20 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Sherri Clay.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Floyd Mihm and Robert Mihm, and sisters: Helen Merschman, Gertrude Faulkner, Jessie Anderson, and Virginia Kohus.
She was a homemaker and a 1945 graduate of Van Wert High.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Paul W. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert Children's Garden.
