VAN WERT, Ohio - Mary S. Donnel, 92, of Van Wert, died at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born May 1, 1920, in Van Wert, to the late Laura (Murphy) Thomas and Robert A. Thomas. Her husband, Glen Donnel, died Jan. 28, 2010. They were married in 1953.
Other survivors include her children: Nancy (Marvin) Mihm of Van Wert and Marie (Ken) Haines of Justin, TX; a brother: Peter (Evelyn) Thomas of Van Wert; a sister-in-law: Mildred (John) Williams of Xenia, Ohio; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: Ernest, Robert, Forest, Tom, Russ, Jim, Chuck, and John Thomas, and sister: Margaret Thomas.
She worked at the Van Wert County Hospital for 25 years until retirement and then lived in New Port Richey, FL, for the next 25 years. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church of God in New Port Richey, FL. She loved RVing with her husband and had visited 46 different states.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. The Rev. Lee Ellis will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at the funeral home.
