Mary Paxson

Mary E. Paxson, 95, of Van Wert passed away at 9:52 AM on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Homestead at Towne Center in Van Wert, where she was loved by everyone there. Mary was born November 20, 1926 in Middle Point, Ohio to the late Allen and Alta (Long) Brown.

Mary was married to her husband, Roger E. Paxson, for 53 years. Roger proceeded her in death on December 13, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jeffery, who died at age 16, her step-son Rollin Paxson, siblings Rose Sherman, Harold and Lawrence Brown, Dennis Robey, Peggy Anderson, Betty Booher, Carl, Richard, Gale, Dale, Roger Dean Brown, Lucielle Granger, Nancy Falke, Susan White and Phyllis Brown.

Mary is survived by her caregivers Sara and Kent Berheide, Carol and David Granger, Pat Sherman and their families. Also surviving is her step-son Wayne (Sandra) Paxson of Fort Wayne, and family, sisters, Ruby (Joe) Delpico, Springfield, OH, Marcielle Fruchey of Kileen, TX, a brother, Tom (Sandy) Brown of Grover Hill, OH and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was employed by Federal Mogul for 9 years before becoming a homemaker. Mary was a 70 year member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She was a 35 year member of Peace Makers, who made quilts for Lutheran World Relief.

She will be missed by all!

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Van Wert, with Pastor Will Haggis officiating. Interment will be held at 1:30 PM at Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary's memory may be directed to EverHeart Hospice and St. Mark's Lutheran Peace Makers.
