Mary Smith

CONVOY, Ohio - Mary Ann Smith, 55, of Convoy, died at 5:07 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice, Van Wert, Ohio.

She was born Jan. 28, 1957, in Van Wert, to the late Jeanne E. (Morisey) Van Fleet and John Van Fleet. Her husband, Donald Smith, survives in Convoy. They were married July 24, 1987.

Other survivors include her children: Shannon R. Smith of Convoy, Kelly (Jamie) Lewis of Bluffton, Ind., Carrie E. (Adam) Showalter of Eubank, Ky., and Samantha J. Smith of Convoy; brothers: Steve Van Fleet of Athens, Ohio, James Van Fleet of Convoy and Michael Van Fleet of Van Wert; sisters: Sherry Krugh of Van Wert and Susan Derkach of Homosassa, Fla., and grandchildren: Nevada Smith; Savannah Smith; Kylar Taylor; Peyton and Kasey Christle and Quinn Moser.

She worked at the Van Wert Wal-Mart photo lab for five years and had formerly worked at the Shutterbug Photography Shop in Van Wert. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Convoy.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy. The Rev. Michael Saylor will officiate. Burial will be in Convoy IOOF Cemetery, Convoy.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy and at the church one hour prior to the service.

Preferred memorial is Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center or the Van Wert Co. Relay for Life.
