Mary Yaney

Mary K. Yaney, 88, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones. Mary was born in Rockford, Ohio to Ralph and Helen (Langel) Ketcham on May 25, 1928. She was a graduate of Miami University and married Stanley Yaney in 1950. They were married for 65 years before he preceded her in death. Mary and Stan settled in Barrington in 1964 and enjoyed the friendships of many from the community. Mary was always an active volunteer and at her death had logged in over 7,000 hours of volunteer service for Good Shepherd Hospital. A loyal Cubs fan for over 50 years, it would have been hard to find a more joyful person at their winning the WS title this past season. She is survived by her four children, Julie (Geoff) Kamin of Bannockburn, John Yaney, Lisa (John) Arnold of West Dundee, Joe (Nicki) Yaney of Barrington, and six grandchildren, Allison and Tyler Yaney, Nora Arnold, Mackenzie Kamin, and Ben and Kate Yaney. A celebration of her life will be held from 1-3pm on Saturday, Feb.4, 2017 at Lake Barrington Woods, 22320 Classic Ct., Lake Barrington.
