Max Roebuck, 94, of Rockford, Ohio, died at 5:47 p.m., Sunday, October 12, 2014, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford, Ohio. He was born on December 17, 1919, in Rockford, Ohio, to Harry and Otie (High) Roebuck. He attended Rockford High School, where he graduated in 1927. With the death of his father in 1929, Max commenced with his life-long career in farming. Max married Myrtle "Bea" Bernice Sielschott on August 14, 1948, in Celina, Ohio, and she survives in Rockford. They had four children: Keith Roebuck, deceased; Danny (Linda) Roebuck of Rockford; Janet (John) Hetz of Plymouth, Indiana; and Gary Roebuck of Rockford, Ohio. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; one granddaughter, LeeAnn Roebuck preceded him in death. Also preceding in death are: parents, Harry & Otie; son, Keith; half sister, Desamonia Dudgeon; cousin Dale Dudgeon; and father & mother-in law, Walter & Sadie Sielschott. Max and Bea were a life-long area farm family. Max was known for his sense of humor, inventions, and practical jokes. The farm continues to operate, even when Max went to coach from the sidelines. Max was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church, and served as a church trustee and treasurer. He was also a member of the Old Town Run Farm Bureau Council. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Chip Steffy and Pastor Sharon Stonerock officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
