Merl J. "Jami" Saam II

Merl J. "Jami" Saam II, 52, of Convoy passed away at 6:51 AM on Friday, May 7, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on March 17, 1969, in Van Wert, the son of Merl J. Saam, Sr. and Jo Ann (Mueller) Bolen. On June 11, 2005, he married the former Ashley Bricker, who survives.

He worked in the maintenance department at B.F. Goodrich in Woodburn, Indiana for many years.

He was a member and volunteer of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1320 in Van Wert.

He was a wise and humble man who enjoyed cornhole, karaoke, the Indianapolis Colts, The Ohio State Buckeyes, lawnmower racing, spending time with his friends and, most importantly, he loved supporting his family.

In addition to his wife Ashley, he is survived by his daughters, Lindy (James) Loftis of Warren, Indiana, Kiara Saam and Allison Saam, both of Van Wert; two grandchildren, Keeton and Kynslee Loftis; his mother and step father, Jo Ann (Steve) Bolen of Van Wert; his father and step mother, Merl (Renee) Saam, Sr. of Van Wert; a sister, Jodi (Bob) Staugler of Ft. Recovery, Ohio; a brother, Jason Saam of Van Wert; many nieces and his loyal companion, Harley.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Merl`s memory may be directed to his daughters.
