Michael A. Irwin, 33, of Van Wert, died at 12:21 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Van Wert County Hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1982, in Houston County, Alabama. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Pamela (Cobb) Thornburgh and Brad Thornburgh of Van Wert, stepfather, Brad Maunz of Van Wert, and his father and stepmother, Michael W. Irwin and Leanne Irwin of Cowarts, Alabama.
Other survivors include his children, Tanner Irwin of Ozark, Alabama, and Gideon Irwin of Van Wert, brothers, Brandon Maunz of Columbus, Ohio, Erick Maunz of Van Wert, Hunter Maunz of Van Wert, Jordan Krugh of Van Wert, and B.J. Thornburgh of Adrian, Michigan, and sisters, Fallan Maunz of Van Wert, and Hayley Robinson of Dothan, Alabama.
He worked as a carpet installer. He loved to hunt, fish and cheer on Alabama Crimson Tide football.
Service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Pastor Steve Heilshorn will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at the funeral home.
