Mildred L. "Mid" Longstreth, 92, of Van Wert, died at 2:24 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at Vancrest Healthcare Center, Van Wert. She was born July 7, 1924, in Middle Point, Ohio, to the late Hila (Waltz) Baer and Ray Baer.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Albert "Abe" Longstreth.
Survivors include children, Vickie Longstreth Ebel of Van Wert, Deborah (John) Kerbel of Woodville, Ohio, Douglas (Mary Beth) Longstreth of Lake Forest, California, Kevin (Rhonda) Longstreth of Middle Point, and Jami (Greg) Pontsler of Rockford, Ohio; two sisters, Joan Neer of Middle Point and Jean Mizner of Kansas City, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Randall Longstreth, two brothers, Ronald and Carl Baer, and two sisters, Mary King and Myrna Partin.
She was a retired waitress and retail sales clerk. She attended Lifehouse Church in Van Wert. She was a member of the Red Hat Floozies, an avid Lincolnview Lancer fan, loved watching her grandchildren's various sporting events, loved her flowers, and was the Middle Point High School Class of 1942 valedictorian.
Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point.
Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Lincolnview Athletic Department.
