Nancy Beckman

VAN WERT, Ohio - Nancy J. Beckman, 82, of Van Wert, died at 4:40 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born May 21, 1930, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Marion (Montague) Holtzapple and Earl Holtzapple.

Her husband, Joe S. Beckman, died Sept. 11, 2008. They were married June 12, 1949.

Survivors include her children: Greg (Susan) Beckman of Jupiter, Fla., and Bryce (Jackie) Beckman of Van Wert; brothers: Rev. Donald (Janet) Holtzapple of Mansfield, Ohio; four grandchildren: Adam (Sarah) Beckman, Scott Beckman, Amy (Robert) Pohorence and Wendy (Josh) Hackler, and three great-grandchildren: Britteny, Spencer and Marissa.

She was a homemaker, a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert and Willow Bend Country Club. She was a former Van Wert County Election precinct worker and a former T.W.I.G. member; She was a loving and caring person who loved to read - especially her Bible.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at First United Methodist Church, Van Wert. The Revs. Donald Holtzapple and Paul Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Van Wert. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the church.

Preferred memorial is Community Health Professionals Hospice Program or First United Methodist Church.
