Neva Butler

VAN WERT, Ohio - Neva B. Butler, 96, of Van Wert, died at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home, Van Wert.
She was born May 15, 1917, in Mercer County, Ohio, to the late Bertha (Downing) Pond and Emerson Pond. Her husband, Robert N. Butler, died Sept. 19, 1995. They were married March 26, 1936, in Decatur, Ind.
Survivors include children: Connie (Robert) Johnson of Van Wert, Larry R. Butler and Danny D. (Nancy) Butler, both of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Jerry L. (Kindra) Butler of Mendon, Ohio, and James P. (Becky) Butler of Van Wert, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and five sisters.
She co-owned and operated Butler's Bakery for many years. She had attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Van Wert. She was an avid euchre and canasta player. She enjoyed fishing and bowled for many years.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2013 at the funeral home.
