Norman "Scott" Kitchen, 59, of Van Wert passed away at 11:25 PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at his residence. He was born on January 23, 1964, in Portsmouth, to Alva "Butch" Curtis and Elsie "Loretta" (Sparks) Kitchen.
Scott retired from Time Warner Cable after 16 years of service. He had also been a Darke County Sheriff's Deputy.
He attended Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses in Van Wert.
Scott was an avid fisherman. He loved to play disc golf, kayaking, camping, bonfires, bowling, the Dallas Cowboys, the Ohio State Buckeyes and, most importantly, he loved spending time with family, friends and his dogs. Above all, Scott treasured being PawPaw to his grandchildren.
Surviving is a special friend, Jenny Seekings of Van Wert; his children, A.J. Kitchen of Greenville, Ohio and Scotty Kitchen of Colorado; his step children, Ashley (Randy) Radabaugh of Van Wert and Keri (Bill) Jenkins of Van Wert; his grandchildren, Payton Helstad, Kursten Nickols, Kortni Stemm, Ryland Radabaugh, Noah Koesters, Braiden Koesters, Gabriel Koesters and Preston Lawson; a brother, Alva "Curt" (Kathy) Kitchen of Greenville; his sisters, Sheila Kay (Rick) Burdette of Winter Haven, Florida and Tammy (Jack) Salazar of Huber Heights, Ohio; a special nephew, Erik Sells of Huber Heights; many other nieces and nephews; and his loyal companions, Duke, Anna and Lilly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Andy Kitchen.
