Patricia L. Jackson Hood, 86, died at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 29, 2014, at Sarah Jane Living Center, Delphos.
She was born Nov. 8, 1927, in Lima to Gale and Cora Boroff Jackson, who preceded her in death. Her uncle and aunt, Ward and Pearl Martin, of Van Wert, served as foster parents and preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hood worked at various restaurants in Lima as well as at Lima Manor as a cook. She graduated from Lima South High School. She loved helping others and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include three children, Carolyn (Michael) Jennings, of Elida, Keith Hood, of Delphos, and Kevin Hood, of Lima; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Steven (Lori) Jennings and children, Maely, Ethan and Emilyn, of Rocky River, Laura Jennings of Elida, Michael Heising and daughter, Halee, of Delphos, Jasmine (Todd) Hood Taylor and son, Brendan, of Pineville, Louisiana, and Amber (Thomas) Hood Ball, and children, Ethan and Ava, of Spencerville; a brother, David (Sharon) Jackson, of Lima; and a sister, Shirley Miller, of Uniopolis.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Burl, Paul, Richard, Kenneth, Dale and Bobby Jackson; and seven sisters, Helen Workman, Dorothy Brewer, Mary Young, Betty Herr, Barbara Bradley and infants Vera and Bertha Jackson.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Pastor Don Holbrook will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemtery, Van Wert.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
