Paul Buchanan

Paul E. Buchanan, 80, of Rockford passed away at 5:13 PM on May 29, 2021 at his residence. He was born on August 20, 1940, in Rockford, to the late Ralph Eugene and Ruth Pauline (Alspaugh) Buchanan.

A 1958 graduate of Rockford High School, Paul went on to serve his county in the United States Air Force. After being honorably discharged, he earned his bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University.

Paul worked as an engineer with Owens Corning in Newark for many years.

Paul enjoyed line-dancing with his wife, spending time with his family, and he adored his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Buchanan of Rockford; sons: Joseph (Christie) Buchanan of Centerville, OH; Michael Buchanan of Columbus, OH; Robert Sherman of Newark, OH; daughter, Mickie Sherman of Columbus, OH; sister, Sharon Ellington of Vancouver; and grandchildren: HArold, Logan and Erin.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his son, Eric and sister, Patsy Kelsey.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, 111 W. First Street Rockford, OH 45882 with Rev. Stuart Wyatt, officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, OH where military honors will be rendered.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, June 03, 2021 at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home.

Preferred memorials are to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
