Paul Carr

d. February 1, 2020

Paul M. Carr, 36, of Rockford, Ohio, died unexpectedly on February 1, 2020. He was born on January 10, 1984 to Bradley B. and Kimberly (Schlickman) Carr.

He was a graduate of the Parkway Class of 2002, and a graduate from Wright State University, where he obtained an Associate Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor Degree in Organizational Leadership. He was a proud member of the U.S. Army Reserves for 9 years and had served a 12 month tour at Guantanamo Bay and served in Iraq for 15 months. He then enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard for 5 years. He was currently serving with the 837 Engineer Battalion.

Paul had lived in the area all his life, and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Hopewell, Celina, Ohio. He was a member of the St. Marys Ohio VFW Post # 9289. He was a big fan of the Parkway Panthers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was very interested in military history and was an avid fan of his "Daddy Diaries", which he wrote in every day, putting on paper all the fun things his children would do, say, and learn—he loved spending time with his children and their mother. Family was everything to him. Paul was known as an avid volunteer in the community, doing yard work, shoveling snow—anything he could do for those who needed his help—especially the elderly. He enjoyed participating in any family activities, including making horseradish from the home-grown bounty from the garden at his grandpa Cal's. Paul had a wonderful sense of humor and a zest for life.

Surviving are his parents, Brad and Kim (Schlickman) Carr of Willshire; the love of his life for the past 10 years, Amy Myers, daughter of Tim and Denise (Kuhn) Myers of Rockford, and Paul and Amy's two children, Melody and Michael of Rockford; his two brothers and his best friends, Brent Carr of Wren, Ohio, and Adam Carr, of Willshire, Ohio; his maternal grandparents, Jan and Bonnie (Dietrich) Schlickman, of Willshire, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Deceased are his paternal grandparents, Calvin and Ruth (Bollenbacher) Carr.
