Paul "Gene" Reish, 85, Rockford, Ohio, died Monday January 11, 2010 at 11:56 p.m. at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford. He was born July 11, 1924 in Darke County, Ohio to Earl C. Reish and Fredrica Schmidt. On June 30, 1946 he married Betty Jean Rowland, who preceded him in death on July 18, 2006. Surviving are one daughter: Pam (Ken) Meyer, Rockford, Ohio; one sister-in-law: Marge Reish, Sidney, Ohio; 5 granddaughters; 4 great grandsons; and 1 great great grandson. Deceased are two sons: Denny and Doug Reish; one brother: Earl Reish Jr.; 2 sisters: Mary Armor, and twin sister Imogene Williams. He served in the U.S. Navy. He owned and operated Reish's Five and Dime Store in Rockford, Ohio for many years, worked at Huffy's in Celina, Ohio, and New Idea, Coldwater, Ohio, where he retired. He was a member of the Rockford Presbyterian Church, and Glenn D. Eckhart Post #508 Rockford American Legion. Funeral Services will be held on Friday January 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, Ohio with Pastor Marvin Schwartz officiating. Friends may call at the Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
