Pauline Grubb

VAN WERT, Ohio - Pauline J. Grubb, 100, Van Wert, died at 8:32 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice, Van Wert.

She was born May 13, 1911, in Venedocia, Ohio, to the late Myrtle (Evans) Jones and James H. Jones. She married Paul Grubb on Sept. 16, 1949. He died March 30, 1992.

Survivors include a niece: Alice Ann Northrup, nephew: James B. Jones, and brother-in-law: Andy Darras, all of Van Wert. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews including, Jeffrey Northrup, Laura Doss, and Jennifer Jones; goddaughters: Catherine Kutz and Sharon Knieriem and many great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers: David, Donald, Marvin, Richard and Robert Jones, sisters: Mary D. Jones and Barbara Darras and a sister-in-law: Laura Jones.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Van Wert, where she was on the Board of Elders, Board of Deacons, Priscilla Circle, Edward's Sunday School Class and Chancel Choir. She worked as an executive secretary at Central Mutual Insurance from 1932 to 1974. She was an honorary member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority of Van Wert and member of the Van Wert Woman's Club.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Hal Shafer will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.

Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28 at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are First Presbyterian Church Children's Fund or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.
