VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Pauline L. Wermer, of Van Wert, devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, died at 3:04 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Van Wert Manor.
She was born Oct. 13, 1916, in Findlay, Ohio, to the late Susan B. (Dunifon) Clark and Charles P. Clark.
Her husband, John M. Wermer, is deceased. They were married June 14, 1941.
Survivors include children: Douglas (Gwen) Wermer of Leo, Ind., Phil (Nancy) Wermer of Van Wert, Marge (Ted) Carter of Georgetown, Ky.; brothers: Bill (Helen) Wilcox of New Haven, Ind.; sister: Josephine (Richard) Ditto of Madison, Ala; six grandchildren: Chris Walter, Dean (Tammy) Thompson, Mike Wermer, Matt (Jenelle) Wermer, Carrie (Dave) Jessee, Ryan (Arica) Wermer, and great-grandchildren: Brittany Rose Walter, Jayde Lauryn Thompson, J.C. Thompson, Connor Wermer, Aaden Wermer, Avery Wermer, Creed Jessee, Jared Jessee, Ryanne Wermer, and Rex Wermer.
She was preceded in death by a brother: John Charles Clark, sisters: Sara Adams and Carolyn Dippery, and a grandchild: Jared Wermer.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Van Wert. She was also a member of the Dorcas Group of the church and a former member of Van Wert County Board of Elections. Most importantly, Pauline's life revolved around her family.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Van Wert. The Rev. Will Haggis will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Preferred memorials may be directed to the church.
