Peg Snider

Margaret "Peg" Ellen (Maurer) Snider, 63, of Mendon, died at 11:15 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born on April 6, 1949 in Celina, Ohio, the daughter of John Wiley and Winifred Ellen (Skinner) Maurer. On March 29, 1969, she married Dale E. Snider, and he survives in Mendon.
She was a 1967 Parkway High School graduate. She attended Wright State University in Celina, Ohio, where she received her Associate of Arts degree and then transferred to Indiana University in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she received her Bachelor's degree. She was a substitute teacher at Parkway Local Schools and a 23 year volunteer with State of the Heart Hospice. She had also worked at the former Celina Barr Store. She was an active member of the Mercer United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Dale, is one brother, Robert (Rozann) Maurer of Mendon; one sister, Pam (Dave) Young of Celina, Ohio; a father-in-law, Russell W. Snider, Jr., of Celina; a brother-in-law, Ron (Marlene) Snider of Celina, two sisters-in-law, Peggy (Joe) Severt of Coldwater, Ohio, and Kathy Snider of Celina. Eleven nieces and nephews survive, along with several grand nieces and nephews, and numerous close cousins. Deceased in addition to her parents, John and Winifred, is her brother, Jack Maurer, and her mother-in-law, Elsie Snider.
Memorial services will be held on October 27, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Mercer United Methodist Church, with Rev. Kenny Baker officiating. Memorials may be directed to Call Food Pantry, State of the Heart Hospice, or to Cancer Association.
