Rachel Middleton

Rachel N. Middleton, 94, of Convoy, died at 6:48 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born October 19, 1920, in Harrogate, Tennessee, the daughter of Levi and Dora (Daniel) Saylor, who both preceded her in death. On August 19, 1940, she married Dewey Middleton, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two children, Dewey Wayne (Stella) Middleton of Defiance and Larry (Marilyn) Middleton of Demotte, Indiana; a sister, Elizabeth Mitchell of Van Wert; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Cleda Mae Middleton, who died at birth; and four brothers, Arthur Saylor, Millard Saylor, Elmer Saylor and Levi Vernon Saylor, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, at Gearhart-Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy, with the Rev. Bud Walls officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
