Randal Lee Caywood, 61, of Rockford, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, March 4, 2021, at Lima Memorial Hospital where he was a patient. He was born on November 16, 1959, in Rockford, Ohio, the son of Lowell Edwin and Mary Lois (Williams) Caywood, both who are deceased. Randy was employed at CAPT in Celina, Ohio, and had previously worked at Teleflex in Van Wert, Ohio. He had also served on the Rockford Police Department and was a volunteer firefighter for the Rockford Fire Department and also had been a volunteer squad member with the Rockford EMS. Randy enjoyed hiking and fishing—anything outdoors, and was a member of the Mercer County Sportsman Association in Celina, Ohio. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Kaylnn---his entire family was very special to him.
Surviving are his daughter Krystle Caywood Shinnaberry of Van Wert, Ohio; two brothers, Jimmy LaDoyt Caywood of Van Wert, Ohio and John Lowell (Angela) Caywood of Celina, Ohio; three sisters: Leona (John) Hudson of Blissfield, Michigan; Betty Lou Caywood of Rockford, Ohio; and Deborah Sue (Richard) Thompson of Portland, Indiana; and two grandchildren: Kaylnn Williams and Jaden Caywood. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, including his special nephew, Brian Burns.
Private visitation and services for the family will be held on Monday morning, March 8, 2021, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Jon Exman officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Memorials may be directed to the Mercer County Sportsman Association or to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
