Rees O. Davies of Van Wert died at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.
He was born Dec. 28, 1941, in Venedocia, Ohio, to Margaret (Jones) Davies and William Palmer Davies. His parents are deceased.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Diane Davies of Van Wert.
Other survivors include his children, Kay Lynne Baker of St. Marys, Ohio, Kevin (Christina) Davies, Kristina (Dallas) Welker and Ken Davies, all of Van Wert; a sister, Doris (Paul) Price of Venedocia; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one due in June, and many nieces and nephews.
He retired as a press setter from Chrysler Amplex in Van Wert and Perrysburg, Ohio. He was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church in Venedocia; a veteran of the United States Army, 101st Airborne; a 1959 graduate of York Township Local School, and a member of Van Wert American Legion.
Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home& Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Thomas Emery will officiate. Burial will be in Venedocia Cemetery, Venedocia.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert Inpatient Hospice or American Diabetes Association or Kidney Foundation.
