Rhonda Weiss

Rhonda Sue Weiss, "Sue", 64, of Van Wert, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born on March 01, 1958, in Findlay, to the late Don and Evelyn (Dewey) Runyan.

A 1976 graduate of Elida High School, Sue went on to earn her LPN degree from Ivy Tech where she graduated Summa-Cum-Laude and was on the dean's list. She worked for Taco Bell for many years, and most recently, she worked as a greeter at Walmart.

Young at heart, Sue had an eclectic taste and was a collector of many unusual things. After she lost her newborn daughter, Sue began making fleece blankets for infants at the Parkview Neonatal Unit.
Sue was a devoted mother and grandmother and caretaker of all. She had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughters: Malissa (Ryan) Hale of Grover Hill; Alexandra Weiss of Huntington, IN; son, Joseph "Joey" Weiss of Van Wert; brother, William Runyan of Lima; sister, Donna Hammond of Columbus; as well as two grandchildren: Logan and Whitney Hale.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Deeana Wiess.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home 722 S. Washington St. Van Wert, OH 45891 with Pastor Brad Custis officiating. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, two-hours prior to the service, from 2 to 4 PM.

For those who prefer, memorial contributions in Sue's name may be directed to the family for final expenses.
