Richard Keith Davis, 80, of Rockford, Ohio, died on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at 3:45 a.m. at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford, where he had been a patient. He was born November 14, 1931, the son of Orval "Jack" and Evelyn (Counterman) Davis. On March 20, 1955, he married Mary Ada (Everett) Sheets, and she preceded in death on September 26, 1993. Keith was the owner of Davis Hay & Straw in Rockford. He was a Korean War veteran, having served in the Air Force. He had lived all his life in Rockford, and was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church, the Rockford F&AM #377, and the Rockford American Legion Post #508. Surviving are two sons, Rick (Kathy) Davis, and Steven (Crystal) Sheets, both of Rockford; one daughter, Dawn (Doug) Coffey, of Powell, Ohio; and one sister, Sharon Ames of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. Deceased is one brother, Melvin Davis. Services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11:00 am at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, with military services by the Rockford American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association.
