Richard Hoverman

Richard A. Hoverman, 82, of Van Wert, died at 9:05 PM on January 15, 2023 at the Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert, Ohio.

He was born on December 25, 1940 in Fostoria, Ohio. He was the son of the late Doyt R. and Gertrude G. (Kreischer) Hoverman. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Danny and David A. Hoverman.

He is survived by a brother Bruce Hoverman of Williamsport, MD and a nephew Andrew Hoverman of Cumberland, MD.

He was a 1959 graduate of Van Wert High School.

Richard worked for manufacturing companies in Van Wert. At Aeroquip (Eaton), he assembled or tested hoses designed to carry fluids at high pressures. At Teleflex he set up production machinery that made plastic products for the automobile industry. At Continental Structural Plastic, he set up production machinery that made fiberglass products for the automobile industry. He retired from Continental Structural Plastic.

Richard also assisted his Father especially in the manufacturing stage of the Hoverman TV Antenna, which was covered by two patents that were granted in the 1950s.

Richard took pride in doing the routine maintenance on his cars.
