Dick was also a blacksmith, which was his true passion. He loved creating metal pieces for his family and friends including bakers racks, shepherd's hooks, and steel roses. He enjoyed teaching his craft and spending time with his family--especially his grandchildren. He was also a fisherman who loved fishing with his grandchildren. Two sisters also survive: Nancy (Roger) Isaac, Batesburg, South Carolina, and Conita (Brad) Oaks, St. Marys, Ohio. Dick adored his six wonderful grandchildren: Stephanie, Baily, Dylan, Natalie, Elayna, and Evan. Deceased is one infant sister, Victoria. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Rockford. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
