Richard "Jim" Taylor

Richard J. “Jim” Taylor, 74, of Van Wert, OH died at 5:08PM Thursday March 15, 2018 @ St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, OH.  Jim was born January 25,1944 in Van Wert, OH to father James Taylor, deceased and mother Velma (Sites) Taylor who is also deceased.

Surviving are children Michael Taylor, Van Wert, OH; Nicole Bugh, Van Wert, OH; Robert Taylor, Van Wert, OH. Brothers: Ronald (Connie) Taylor, Van Wert, OH and Albert (Betty) Taylor, Van Wert, OH. Sister : Jo Ann (Anthony) Lippi, Venedocia, OH. Grandchildren: : Megan, Fawn, Brittany, Dustin James, Zachary, Hunter, Preston and Ashlyn. Plus 8 great grandchildren survive.

Preceding him in death were his parents, daughter Misty Dawn Taylor, grandson Colton, and sister Ginger I. Black.

Jim was retired from Gattshall Construction & Taylor Backhoe; was a Veteran of US Navy; Member of the Van Wert American Legion; Charter Member of Van Wert Navy Club. His passions were drag racing, history and spending time with his cats and Grandkids. He dearly Loved his Country and Flag.

There will be No calling hours.  Graveside services will be Tuesday March 20, 2018  at 1:00PM at Taylor Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.  Military Graveside Services will be provided by the Van Wert Posts of the Van Wert American Legion & VFW.  In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
