CONVOY, Ohio - Robert L. Dailey, 84, of Convoy, died at 3:45 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at Dekalb Memorial Hospital, Auburn, Ind.

He was born April 25, 1928, in Berne, Ind., to the late Margaret Martha (Brandt) Dailey and Stanton Revere Dailey. His wife, Eileen D. (Wallis) Dailey, died Dec. 3, 2003. They were married June 18, 1952. Survivors include children: Eric (Jolenna) Dailey of Oakwood, Ohio, Michael N. Dailey and Susie (Greg) Harrell, both of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; brothers: Charles (Ilene) Dailey and David Dailey, both of Berne, Ind.; sisters: Alma Kable and Katherine Bair, both of Ft. Wayne, and Marjorie Dodane of Kingman, Ariz.; grandchildren: Erica (Cliff) Warden, Jared (Janalle) Wiegand, Maribeth Harrell, Reva (Chris) Garrett, Jessica (Brian) Stoltz, Joelle (Josh) Hildebrandt, Jenna Dailey, and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers: Thomas Dailey and Stanton Dailey, Jr., a sister: Mary Bennett, and a grandchild: Tige Harrell.

He was a lifetime farmer, worked at Tokheim Corportation in Ft. Wayne, Ind., for 21 years and was a journeyman plumber for over 20 years. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Convoy. He served as a private in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Elks and American Legion.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home, Convoy. The Rev. Eric Dailey will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, Ohio.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012, and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home in Convoy.

Preferred memorial is American Diabetes Association.
