Robert Lininger

Robert D. "Sporty" Lininger of Van Wert died at 10:25 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Van Wert, to Helen (Siple) Lininger and Ray Lininger. His parents preceded him in death.
His wife, Janet (Carpenter) Lininger, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Richard (Beth) Lininger and Gary (Carol) Lininger, both of Van Wert, grandchildren, Katie Lininger, Melissa (James) McKean, Tom Lininger, and Erin Culler, and great-grandchildren: Alli Lininger, Jimmie McKean, Carson McKean, Kennedi McKean, Jack Culler, and Nathan Culler.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dick, Jack, and Roger Lininger.
He was the former owner of Lininger Brothers, Inc. of Van Wert. He was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Van Wert, the Van Wert YMCA, Van Wert Elks lodge and Delphos Eagles.
Service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Van Wert. The Rev. Will Haggis will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery Van Wert. Visitation is 9-11 am Friday, April 15, 2016, at the church.
Preferred memorial is St. Marks Lutheran Church or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
