Robert Sauder

Robert Tad Sauder, 58, of Van Wert passed away on June 2, 2021 at his residence. He was born on August 15, 1962, in Paulding, to the late Robert Wayne and Sandra Ann (Hunt) Sauder.

Tad worked for many years as a welder for Baker Built Products. He loved his country and proudly served in the United States Army.

An avid reader and history buff, Tad had a vast collection of books. A sci fi nerd, he also enjoyed hunting, motorcycles, woodworking and talking about cooking. Tad had a great sense of humor and always made people laugh.

Of all Tad's interests and hobbies, his family was the most important to him. Spending time with them around the bonfires and at cookouts were his favorite things, and his grandchildren were his life.

Surviving are his wife, Tammy (Rhoades) Sauder; children: Carol Ann Karnehm, Jessica Renee (Larry) Flory, Bradley R. (Stephanie) Sauder, all of Van Wert; sisters: Vickie (Chris) Rhoades of Convoy; Wendy (Rick Stutz) Sauder of Ohio City; grandchildren: Hannah & Kaiden Dix, Arianna Flory, Dylan and Gavin Miller; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June, 8, 2021 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home 722 S. Washington St. Van Wert, OH 45891 with military honors to follow.

The family will receive from 3 to 7 PM on Monday, June 7, 2021 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert`s memory may be directed to the family for final expenses.
