Robert Snyder

Robert H. Snyder, of Convoy, died at 2:36 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. He lost his battle with sarcoid mesothelioma.

He was born March 23, 1951, in Adams County, Indiana, to the late Louise (Headley) Snyder and Forest O. Snyder.

On May 1, 1971, he married Marjorie Ann (Davies) Snyder. She passed away on March 24, 2002. Then on Jan. 25, 2003, he married Colleen (Schaadt) Snyder. She survives of Convoy.

Other survivors include children, Chad (Stephanie) Snyder of Soldotna, Alaska, Jeremy (Jamie) Etzler of South Solon, Ohio, Hollie (Sean) Ford of Van Wert, Ohio, and Mandi (Terry) Scarlett of Convoy, Ohio; brother: Fred L. Snyder of Ohio City, Ohio; grandchildren: Emma, Madison, Heidi, and Mason Snyder, Austin and Justin Etzler, Olivia and Sophia Ford, Courtney (Michael) Harr, Evan, Ean and Elijah Scarlett, and a great-grandchild, Brady Harr.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Joann Ryan.

He retired as a heavy maintenance mechanic at B.F. Goodrich, Woodburn, Indiana, and had been a long time dairy farmer.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Convoy, past member and officer of Wren Ballpark Association, former member of Wren Volunteer Fire Dept., and past member of United Steel Workers local 715.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy. The Rev. Michael Saylor will officiate. Burial will be in Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery, Convoy.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2015, at Gearhart-Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Preferred memorial is Puppet Program at Redeemer Lutheran Church or AWANA at Pleasant View Church.
