Robert Witherow

Robert Lee “Bob” Witherow, age 80, of Convoy, passed away at 4:33 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Van Wert Health. He was born September 7, 1938, in Van Wert, to the late Cary and Treva (Alt) Witherow.

Bob served his county in the United States Navy and attended Grace Bible Church. He was self-employed, contracting with Reynolds & Reynolds in Dayton.

He is survived by his wife, Portia R. (Stoller) Witherow of Van Wert; children: Thomas Witherow of Eugene, OR; Timothy (Tara) Witherow of Franklin, TN; step-children: Callon (Lyndi) McCoy of Greenfield, IN; Carmen (Andrew) Mueller of Beverly, MA; brothers: Eugene (Sarah) Witherow of Virginia; Carl “Butch” (Jill) Witherow of Van Wert; sister, Verona (Terry) Eikenbary of Van Wert; grandchildren: Juliana McGuire; Joe & Finnegan McCoy; Nathaniel Mueller..

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Witherow.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, October 15, 2018 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Lance Hostetler officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 pm Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to The Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America.
