MIDDLE POINT, Ohio - Surrounded by his family, Roger W. Domina, 67, of Middle Point, died at 6 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 1, 1945, in Montgomery, Vt., to the late Wilma F. (Donna) Domina and Harry Domina.
His wife, Bonnie (Lunsford) Domina, survives of Middle Point.
Other survivors include his children: Vicky (Thomas) Jones of Paulding, Ohio, Kenny (Tera) Domina of Greenup, Ky., Joann (James) Steele of Middle Point; brothers: Douglas Domina of Greenville, S.C., Lee (Terry) Domina of Franklin, Vt.; sisters: Charlotte Mercy of Franklin, Vt., Theresa Tibbits of Swanton, Vt., Betty Pudvah of Swanton, Vt., Brenda (Frank) Mantani, South Hero, Vt.; grandchildren: LeAnn (Mitch) McClure, Amber (Chris) Oberhaus, Kara Domina, Trevor Domina, Ryan Steele, Logan Steele, and great-grandchildren: Lance McClure and Kendal "Curly Top" McClure. Many nieces and nephews survive.
He retired from the US Army after 23 years of service in 1985. He worked for Brown's Food Service in Louisa, Ky., from 1985 until the end of 2000. He was of the Catholic faith.
A special family thank you goes out to the University of Michigan Hospital for the outstanding care given throughout the last 12 years.
Services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Stan Szybka will officiate. Military rites will be given by the combined units of the Van Wert American Legion & VFW Posts. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is to the family.
