Roger Felger, Sr

Roger L. Felger, Sr. 76 of Van Wert, Ohio died at 2:40 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert,Ohio.

He was born Jan. 27, 1937 in Van Wert to Emmett L. and La Vera Faye (Adams) Felger who are deceased.

He is survived by his children: Nita (Roger) Finger of Van Wert, Connie (Dick) Elder of Van Wert, Katherine (Le Roy) Samra of Marco Island, Florida, Angie (Steve) Dietrich of Rockford, Ohio, Rose (Mike) Elston of Middle Point, Ohio, Cynthia (Pablo) Rivera of Convoy, Ohio, Alice (Sam) Laurent of Van Wert, and Roger (Julie) Felger, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; a brother: Danny Felger of Van Wert; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are six brothers: Junior Lee "George", Carrol, Kenneth Eugene, Milo, Richard, and Ralph Felger; two sisters: Mary Amweg and Helen Drocy; and one step-great-grandchild.

He retired from Pre-Stressed Concrete of Michigan. He was a veteran of the U.S Air Force where he served as a mechanic and a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was a mechanic on aircraft carriers. He was a member of the Van Wert American Legion and VFW posts, Middle Point AMVETS, and the Van Wert Navy Club.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio. Burial will follow at Taylor Cemetery, rural Convoy, Ohio. Rev. Paul Miller will officiate. Military Graveside Services will be by the combined posts of the Van Wert American Legion & VFW.

Friends may call on Thursday Dec. 26 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
