Roger Heppeard

Roger William Heppeard 69, of Rockford, Ohio died Monday March 29,2010 at 11:15 p.m. at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born June 20, 1940 in Liberty Township, Ohio to William "Sam" Foster and Georgia Bonita (Huffman) Heppeard. Surviving is one sister: Carolyn Heppeard of Rockford, Ohio, along with nieces and nephews. Deceased is one brother: Bill Heppeard; two sisters: Veda Heppeard and Vivian Pontsler. He was a race horse trainer all his life, working with the horses at Van Wert Co. Fairgrounds. He passed away doing what he loved the most, working with horses at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds. (pacers). Memorial Services will be held Saturday April 3, 2010 at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mark Rutledge. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Memorial donations can be sent to the family Carolyn Heppeard for a Memorial Bench to be placed at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds.
