Roger Martin
November 28, 1939 — January 22, 2017
TIFFIN, Ohio a�" Roger D. Martin, 77, formerly of Van Wert, Ohio, passed away Jan. 22, 2017, at St. Francis Home in Tiffin. He was born Nov. 28, 1939, in Van Wert, to the late Dorothy (Pancake) and T. Dale Martin. His mother passed away when Roger was very young and he was raised by Onalee (Rucklos) Martin.
He is survived by his sister, Ann Gillig; nephew, Ben Gillig; niece, Katie Schmidt; great nephews, Ethan Schmidt and Hudson Gillig; great niece, Maddy Schmidt, all of Tiffin, and his cousin, Mary Bidlack of Van Wert.
Roger graduated from Wittenberg University with a master's degree in Sacred Music. He was able to use his talents by performing in many churches and cathedrals throughout Europe while with the Wittenberg Choir. For most of his career, he worked in the computer programming industry, most recently with The Ohio State University Lima Branch.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, with the Rev. William Haggis officiating.
