Roger Mowry

VAN WERT, Ohio - Roger E. Mowry, 78, of Van Wert, died at 10:55 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.
He was born Aug. 22, 1935, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Estelle (Taylor) Mowry and Earle Mowry. His wife, Corinne (Jamkowski) Mowry, survives of Van Wert.
Other survivors include children: Janet (Jim) Wilson of Toledo, Ohio, and Jennifer (Jeff) Hyre of Findlay, Ohio; sisters: Dorothy Schreiber of Warren, Mich., and grandchildren: Katie and Meghan Hyre.
He retired from Chrysler Corp., Van Wert, after many years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army, a member of the Van Wert American Legion Post, Van Wert Elks and Van Wert YWCA. He loved going to get ice cream with his grandchildren. Roger collected stamps, loved to play golf and was an avid Red Wing hockey fan.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Stan Szybka will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center or Alzheimer's Assn.
