VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Rolland G. "Red" Pollock, 87, of Van Wert, died at 7:12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice, Van Wert.
He was born June 18, 1927, in Middle Point, Ohio, to the late Mary Ethel (Downhour) Polloock and Joseph Err Pollock.
His wife, Leone F. (Swartz) Drake Pollock, survives in Van Wert. Bonnie Lou (Smith) Pollock died March 29, 1996.
Survivors include children: Cynthia (David) Streicher of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Michael A. (Kimberly) Pollock of Perrysburg, Ohio, Loretta (Greg) Wahmhoff of Van Wert, and Christopher G. Pollock of Van Wert; stepchildren: Danny D. (Billie) Drake of Wetzel, Ohio, Troy (friend: Donna Riley) Drake of Rockford, Ohio, and Lana Davies of Wilmington, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson: Scott E. "Skipper" Drake, a sister: Ruth Mihm, and a grandchild.
He retired from Continental Can Co. after 38 years and worked for Don Taylor Auto Sales of Van Wert for over 50 years. He was a member of the Zion Christian Union in Grover Hill, Ohio, and an avid Cleveland Indians fan and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home and Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Mark McKay will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at the funeral home.
