Ronald D. Cook

Ronald D. Cook, 89, of Van Wert, died at 10:25 am on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Vancrest of Van Wert.

He was born September 20, 1934, in Chicago, to Marjorie G. Close.

Ronald graduated from Wren High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War.

He retired from International Harvester after 30 years of service.

Ronald loved cars and his pets over the years.

He is survived by a sister, Patricia "Pat" Pearish-Knuppel of Van Wert; and a brother, Mark (Rena) Close of Phoenix, Arizonia.

Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie; his grandparents who helped raise him, Logan and Jennie Cook; and three brothers, Roger, Michael and Dennis Close.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, with Pastor Missy Mullenhour, officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Thursday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Van Wert County Humane Society.
