Ronald Kinnicutt

March 18, 1956 — October 16, 2016

Ronald "Pops" Kinnicutt, 60, of Rockford, Ohio, formerly of Celina, Ohio, died on Sunday, October 16, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 18, 1956 in Wellsville, New York, the son of Donald and Cora (Jackson) Kinnicutt. Ron had been employed at Fleetwood Manufacturing in Decatur, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He has lived in Rockford the past fifteen years, coming from Celina, where he had moved to from New York in 1998. Ron was always there for everything for his family. He adored his grandchildren and attended all their soccer games, becoming quite the soccer fan. He loved woodworking, and over the years, built two beautiful playhouses for the grandkids, complete with electric and tv! He had always hoped to have a little woodworking shop of his own, and he always wanted to learn to play the acoustic guitar. He loved his children and was very proud of them. You might have seen Ron with the grandkids in a wagon behind his lawn mower, giving them rides through Rockford. He was happiest when he was with his family. Throughout his life, Ron walked in Jesus' steps as a carpenter-so giving and loving to all people. Surviving are his life partner, Brenda Litteral of Rockford; his two sons, Ronald Kinnicutt, Jr. of Rockford, and Ben (Kristy) Kinnicutt of Celina, his niece, Kambry Stockdale, of Rockford; and two step-sons, Robert Litteral of North Carolina and Jeff (Suzann) Litteral of Celina, Ohio. He has three brothers who survive: Gary Kinnicutt, Scio, New York; George (Brenda) Kinnicutt , California; David Kinnicutt, Wellsville, New York; and a sister Linda Maxwell, also of Wellsville, New York. Ron has seven wonderful grandchildren who will miss him dearly: Macy, Breanna, Keelie, Kolton, Kohen, Sloane, and Cruz. Deceased is an infant daughter, Dimetra and a brother, Terry. Services will be held on Friday, October 21, at 1:30 p.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, in Rockford, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Family members may call at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, and both friends and family may call from 11:30 a.m. up until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Association of Mercer County, Celina, Ohio, or to Grand Lake Hospice, St. Marys, Ohio.
