Ronald Brent Miller, 77, of Van Wert, died at 8:50 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. He was born July 18, 1938, in Van Wert, to Pansy (Powell) Miller and Clifford E. Miller. His parents preceded him in death.
His wife, Shirley L. (Ackom) Miller, died Oct. 8, 2013.
Survivors include his children, Kimberly A. (Dave) Clifton of Heber City, Utah, Roderick E. (Dawna L.) Miller of Decatur, Indiana, and Troy A. (Tina) Miller of Van Wert; brother, Ernie (Carolyn) Miller of Van Wert; his grandchildren, Carly (Jamey) Driscoll, Kacy Clifton, Dani Ulman, Brittany and Kristi Lambright, AJ (Courtney) Miller, Rachel Miller, Cassity (Zach) Welker, and LeAndryce Miller, and eight great-grandchildren.
He retired from Aeroquip Corporation, Van Wert. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert and member and past exalted ruler of Van Wert Elks Lodge 1197.
Ron loved going to the "shop" and having coffee with the guys, stopping by the American Legion on Mondays and Thursdays, hanging out with the gang on Wednesdays at the Elks, and coffee with the guys at McDonald's on Saturday mornings. But most of all, he loved time with his children and grandchildren.
Service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery Van Wert.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016, at the funeral home. An Elks memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
